Kat Seidemann
Wishing for Birdsong

Katherine "Kat" Seidemann is a Seattle poet, cross-genre writer, and visual artist with an MFA in Creative Writing and Poetics from the University of Washington Bothell. Winner of the 2008 Marcia Barton Award for Poetry, her work has been featured in the literary and art journals Licton Springs Review and Clamor. She is the author of the chapbook The Story of Hope. Kat has co-curated two exhibitions at INCA Seattle and a haiku/art event at the Henry Art Gallery. Her interest in transmedia art inspired Kat to found aether inK, a series of one night exhibitions featuring local artists, writers, and poets with a shared interest in cross genre production. In October 2014, Kat's first independent exhibition, "art |as| page," brought together six poets working in the visual and material aspects of poetry. Kat has curated three further aether inK exhibitions on different themes. Kat's aether inK project is dedicated to building an inclusive creative community with a core group of artists and writers while including new artistic voices.
