For me the Imaginary is linked to the self-centered ego, the self-infatuated ego and in true imaginary play, self-doubt and self-loathing are also present.

I believe in a make-believe double imaginary consciousness - always observing, discussing and creating selves in nonstop conversation.

And, my inspiration for my Imaginary Friend comes from Salvador Dali's Metamorphosis of Narcissus 1937. I had a print copy of this painting on my bedroom wall throughout my teenage and university student years.
